Dear Members:
I have three announcements for you.

First, the party at Uncommon Ground tomorrow at 3800 N. Clark will be held in their "Music Room". Please ask upon entering where the music room is located.

Second, I need some of you to assist me with the Tuesday, November 3rd event at Hotel Sofitel. I expect this to be a packed event and I will be inviting another Meetup group so if you can be there at 6:30 p.m. and help check in and greet attendees please let me know (Please send an e-mail to me directly and don't response to this e-mail).

Third, and most importantly, organizing events with sponsors has become problematic lately due to a few chronic members replying with an RSVP, for themselves and others, and then later not showing up. In the past, many business owners were willing to provide excellent service and complimentary food and/or drinks. Now, most are reluctant to do so without charging a deposit. Some establishments have even mentioned leveling an 18% gratuity!

Because I want to continue to provide you the most fun-filled events without charging you an upfront fee, as other groups have resorted to, I need you to be more diligent on your RSVP’s. To that end, we have instituted a new RSVP policy. If you RSVP for an event that has "limited attendance" (e.g. Hotel Sofitel on November 3rd) and can not attend please change your RSVP to “NO” within 48 hours of the event. This will allow others to attend. If you RSVP for an "limited attendance" event and do not show, this will be tracked. If this occurs repeatedly, your membership to our group will be terminated. We believe this is fair and respectful of your fellow members. After all, we all want all of you to continue to enjoy the benefits of being a valued member of this group.

Thanks for your cooperation.
